Teenage pregnancy refers to pregnancy occurring in girls aged 19 years and below. It is a global public health and social issue that affects the health, education, and future opportunities of young people, especially girls. 

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), adolescent pregnancy is a global phenomenon with clearly known causes and serious health, social and economic consequences.
